Beginning Weaving

April 8, 2016 @ 11:00 am – 4:00 pm

Join Kara on Friday April 8 from 11 am – 4 pm. $85 plus materials.

How would you like to make a scarf in one day? With weaving, you can! From warping the loom to tying off the fringe, you’ll learn everything you need to know to make your first woven scarf from start to finish. With the easy-to-use rigid heddle loom (we’ll have them for sale or to use in class), you’ll learn to weave a basic scarf in one or two colors. With this foundation, you can later move on to more advanced color patterning and textured stitches. For this project, you will need approximately 100 yards each for warp and weft yarns — the same or two different colors. We believe you can weave! Limited class size, so please sign up early.Use your own rigid heddle loom or call and register early to secure one of ours.

Advance preparation may be required depending on the class topic. Details will be provided one week in advance or upon sign-up. Each weekly class session includes two hours of hands-on instruction, and extra help outside of class if needed and our time allows (it almost always does!). Yarn for classes must come from Compatto Yarn Salon, and we are always happy to help you choose the best yarn for your class or project. If you have questions about this or any other class, please give us a call at 310-453-2130.
