If you’ve ever admired cables but thought they were beyond you, fear not! First of all, they’re not as hard as they look. Second, this class will give you all the help and practice you need to cable with confidence. The scarf progresses from simple 4-stitch cables to a complex Aran motif, creating a beautiful flow of pattern over the length of the scarf. Beyond the making of a cable, you’ll learn to read your work (How many rows have I done since my last cable?), read a cable chart, cable without a cable needle, and fix a cable that was crossed the wrong way. Suitable for a cable novice, or for anyone who wants to up their cable competence–and confidence! This would be gorgeous in our hand-dyed SweetGeorgia or Jade Sapphire worsted weight yarns, or Baah Sonoma DK weight. Really, any yarn that’s not too fuzzy, so you can show off those beautiful stitch patterns!

Advance preparation may be required, depending on the class topic. Details will be provided at least one week in advance or upon sign-up. Each weekly class session includes two hours of hands-on instruction, or more if needed and our time allows (it almost always does!). Yarn for our classes must come from Compatto Yarn Salon, and we are always happy to help you choose the best yarn for your class or project. Classes must have at least three participants in order to run. If you have questions about this or any other class, please give us a call at 310-453-2130.
