Since the last beaded scarf class, we’ve had a number of requests for another. Where the last one had pre-strung beads, this one will teach you how to add beads as you go. We will also be following a lace pattern (from charted or written instructions), working from end to end, with no grafting or provisional cast-on. (In fact, if you’d like to learn the lace without the beads, you are welcome to do that too.) At the ends, you have the option of making a yarn-and-bead or all-bead tassel, or leave just the pointed end. This creation would look divine in a range of yarns–Mimi Mink, Rowan Kidsilk Haze, Blue Sky Metalico or Alpaca Silk.
In addition to yarn and needles, students should bring to the first class size 6/0 seed beads and a US 14/0.6mm crochet hook for beading. Quantities vary by choice of tassel; consult pattern or call shop for details.
Advance preparation may be required, depending on the class topic. Details will be provided at least one week in advance or upon sign-up. Each weekly class session includes two hours of hands-on instruction, or more if needed and our time allows (it almost always does!). Yarn for our classes must come from Compatto Yarn Salon, and we are always happy to help you choose the best yarn for your class or project. Classes must have at least three participants in order to run. If you have questions about this or any other class, please give us a call at 310-453-2130.
