Mosaic Blanket

This original pattern uses the mosaic technique to create an eye-catching two-color (or multi-color!) blanket. Mosaic knitting employs a slip-stitch method to blend colors for a look reminiscent of Fair Isle, while only using one color at a time….. a truly amazing result from a simple technique. Whether this is your first foray into color work, or the chance to learn a new technique, mosaic knitting is interesting and engaging, while keeping it simple! This blanket is created in strips, keeping it interesting and keeping it moving along. The mosaic units are separated by a textural band in a soft, complementary color. Choose two contrasting colors, or many. The sample is knit in Blue Sky Worsted Hand Dyes, but the sky’s the limit!
