Nostalgia Shawl

March 14, 2016 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Join Gabriella on Mondays, March 14, 21 & 28 from 2-4 pm. $85 plus materials.

The Nostalgia Shawl alternates stripes with an easy-to-learn openwork pattern, creating a casual, stylish wrap for any occasion. This shawl can be made in garter stitch, which is completely reversible, or in stockinette for a more refined look. Though simple in style, this project gives you an opportunity to add some great skills to your knitting toolbox. You’ll learn the make one increases, right and left, short row technique with the wrap and turn, and tips for carrying the unused yarn when working with two colors. The sample is made in Baah Sonoma but you can use other yarns such as luxurious Illimani Royal Alpaca, Ella Rea Lace Merino, or supersoft Jade Sapphire 4-ply cashmere.

Advance preparation may be required depending on the class topic. Details will be provided one week in advance or upon sign-up. Each weekly class session includes two hours of hands-on instruction, and extra help outside of class if needed and our time allows (it almost always does!). Yarn for classes must come from Compatto Yarn Salon, and we are always happy to help you choose the best yarn for your class or project. If you have questions about this or any other class, please give us a call at 310-453-2130.
