Stitch Block Cowl

September 3, 2015 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Join Gabriella on Thursdays, September 3, 10, 17 & 24 from 2-4pm. $95 plus materials.

Are you tired of stockinette stitch? Shake up your knitting with this cowl from Purl Soho uses the brioche technique of knitting into the row below. The class will offer tips for working with multiple colors (although you’ll use only one color in any given row), as well as how to read your knitting to follow the pattern more easily. There will be special attention paid to ripping back each stitch pattern so that you can fix your own mistakes and avoid getting stuck. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll love the perfect balance of rhythm and challenge that this project offers. The finished cowl is wrapped twice around the neck to create effortless style. Gabriella knitted the store sample in super soft and yummy Baah Aspen, but the pattern is easy to adapt for different yarn weights and would look and feel amazing in SweetGeorgia Trinity Worsted, Jade Sapphire Cashmere or Llama Sparkle.

Advance preparation may be required, depending on the class topic. Details will be provided at least one week in advance or upon sign-up. Each weekly class session includes two hours of hands-on instruction, or more if needed and our time allows (it almost always does!). Yarn for our classes must come from Compatto Yarn Salon, and we are always happy to help you choose the best yarn for your class or project. Classes must have at least three participants in order to run. If you have questions about this or any other class, please give us a call at 310-453-2130.
