Waffle Weave Scarf

September 30, 2016 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Join Kara on Tuesday Sept. 27 from 2 – 5 pm. and Friday Sept. 30 from 2 – 4 pm.

Nicknamed ‘The Waffle Weave’ because it mimics the 3 dimensional quality of an actual waffle, this 2 color weave will add softness and drape to your fabric, making it as yummy as it’s namesake!. The pattern uses a pick up stick and is woven in an easy to follow sequence of 6 rows. Options to use 1 or 2 colors, and alternate with plain weave if you choose. The weave is not only great for scarves, but also cushion covers & blankets. This class is a good introduction to using pick up sticks if you have not used them before. The store sample was woven using our super soft Illamani Royal Alpaca. Use your own rigid heddle loom, or call and register early to secure one of ours.

Advance preparation may be required depending on the class topic.  Details will be provided one week in advance or upon sign-up. Each weekly class session includes two hours of hands-on instruction, and extra help outside of class if needed and our time allows (it almost always does!). Yarn for classes must come from Compatto Yarn Salon, and we are always happy to help you choose the best yarn for your class or project.  If you have questions about this or any other class, please give us a call at 310-453-2130.
