Join Kara on Tuesday, July 12 from 2-5pm and Friday, July 15 from 2-4pm. $85 plus materials. Basic weaving and knitting skills required.
In this class you will learn to make a cowl using both weaving and knitting! One technique flows into the other in an uninterrupted circle. In the first class, we will set up the looms and start weaving; in the second, we will do the hemming and knitting. This design uses the same yarn for weaving (warp and weft) and knitting. We think it’s the perfect showcase for our specially-dyed, Compatto’s Spring Serenity in Baah Aspen (come see the sample in last year’s custom color!). Other lovely choices include Rainbow Beach and HiKoo Llamor. You may use your own loom (with 12.5 dpi reed) or one of ours.
Advance preparation may be required depending on the class topic. Details will be provided one week in advance or upon sign-up. Each weekly class session includes two hours of hands-on instruction, and extra help outside of class if needed and our time allows (it almost always does!). Yarn for classes must come from Compatto Yarn Salon, and we are always happy to help you choose the best yarn for your class or project. If you have questions about this or any other class, please give us a call at 310-453-2130.
