Join Kara on Tuesdays April 18th & 25th from 3 – 6 pm. $85 plus materials. Go big with weaving! Here’s your chance to work with chunky yarns and make this luscious blanket. It is woven in three or more panels which are then sewn together using a simple decorative stitch. Get to grips with super thick yarn which weaves up quickly and learn how to make extra long warps. In the first class we will be setting up our looms, working together to wind our warps, and starting the weaving. The second class will be finishing up the weaving, cutting, and sewing the panels together. This can be a baby blanket or Afghan size depending on the width of your loom and length of warp. Use your own rigid heddle loom, or call and register early to secure one of ours.
Advance preparation may be required depending on the class topic. Details will be provided one week in advance or upon sign-up. Each weekly class session includes two hours of hands-on instruction, and extra help outside of class if needed and our time allows (it almost always does!). Yarn for classes must come from Compatto Yarn Salon, and we are always happy to help you choose the best yarn for your class or project. If you have questions about this or any other class, please give us a call at 310-453-2130.
