Join Kara on Tuesday, August 18th from 2-7pm. $75 plus materials. Basic weaving skills required.
In this class you will learn a variety of different stitches and techniques on the rigid heddle loom while creating your own table runner. Try your hand at lace, honeycomb, and overshot patterns to really get control of your loom and discover its possibilities. You can use your own loom (with 12.5 dpi reed) or one of ours. It is recommended to use the same yarn for both warp and weft, in one color or more. We love the linen/cotton blend Zooey, in a range of neutrals. Or bring in some color with Blue Sky Skinny Cotton or Louisa Harding Azalea.
Advance preparation may be required, depending on the class topic. Details will be provided at least one week in advance or upon sign-up. Each weekly class session includes two hours of hands-on instruction, or more if needed and our time allows (it almost always does!). Yarn for our classes must come from Compatto Yarn Salon, and we are always happy to help you choose the best yarn for your class or project. Classes must have at least three participants in order to run. If you have questions about this or any other class, please give us a call at 310-453-2130.
