Zipper Scarf

January 12, 2016 @ 6:00 pm – 7:45 pm

Join Mary Beth on Tuesday nights, January 12 & 19 from 6-7:45pm. $55 plus materials.

Back by request! If you’ve admired theFox Paws shawl but thought it looked too complicated, get your feet wet with the Zipper Scarf. It’s the perfect introduction to the technique of stacked increases and decreases developed by designer Xandy Peters. Get this method under your belt with this lengthwise scarf and you’ll be ready to take your skills to the next level with her more complex designs. You’ll also learn a trick for for casting on a large number of stitches without running out of yarn tail. The pattern is written for any worsted weight yarn (like our favorite SweetGeorgia Trinity Worsted), but you can go bigger and fluffier with Misti Alpaca (see the store sample), or lighter in Blue Sky Suri Merino. Almost any yarn will do!

Advance preparation may be required depending on the class topic.  Details will be provided one week in advance or upon sign-up. Each weekly class session includes two hours of hands-on instruction, and extra help outside of class if needed and our time allows (it almost always does!). Yarn for classes must come from Compatto Yarn Salon, and we are always happy to help you choose the best yarn for your class or project.  If you have questions about this or any other class, please give us a call at 310-453-2130.
