Inspired by the Italian Commedia dell’Arte’s female heroine, Columbina is a dramatic two color mosaic shawl worked on the bias. Mosaic means that you will only use one color at a time, the patterning is done entirely with slipped stitches. The wrap begins and ends with a steady rhythm of easy garter rows, with the fun pattern of Harlequin’s cheques in the middle, and is embellished with a picot flourish. The perfect project for vibrant, high-contrast colours, the bias shawl comes in two sizes and is shaped only with simple increases and decreases, resulting in a spectacular accessory.

Advance preparation may be required depending on the class topic. Details will be provided one week in advance or upon sign-up. Each weekly class session includes two hours of hands-on instruction, and extra help outside of class if needed and our time allows (it almost always does!). Yarn for classes must come from Compatto Yarn Salon, and we are always happy to help you choose the best yarn for your class or project. If you have questions about this or any other class, please give us a call at 310-453-2130.
