Join Kara on Tuesday Nov. 21 & 28 from 3 – 6 pm $85 plus materials. Go big with weaving! Here’s your chance to work with chunky yarns and make this luscious blanket. It is woven in three or more panels which are then sewn together using a simple decorative stitch. In the first class we will be setting up our looms, working together to wind the warps, and starting the weaving. The second class will be, cutting and finishing, and sewing the panels together. You will be delighted with how fast and easy this is to make. It can be a baby blanket or Afghan size depending on the width of your loom and length of warp. See the sample in store that was woven using Debbie Bliss Funky Chunky and Lara on a 20” loom using a 2.5dpi reed. Blue Sky Bulky will also work well. Or less chunky yarns can easily be doubled to get the same effect. Use your own rigid heddle loom with a 2.5 dpi reed, or call and register early to secure one of ours.
Advance preparation may be required depending on the class topic. Details will be provided one week in advance or upon sign-up. Each weekly class session includes two hours of hands-on instruction, and extra help outside of class if needed and our time allows (it almost always does!). Yarn for classes must come from Compatto Yarn Salon, and we are always happy to help you choose the best yarn for your class or project. If you have questions about this or any other class, please give us a call at 310-453-2130.
