The Impressionists Shawl

June 9, 2018 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Join Diane on Saturdays, June 9, 16, 23 & 30 from 2-4pm. $85 plus materials.

When you stand in front of an Impressionist masterpiece, what do you see? Quiet vibrancy, indistinct edges, and clear warm light. The richness of ordinary moments captured in glimpses: this is the true magic of the Impressionists.

Our creative work as knitters also grounds us in the same sensory experience of each moment: colour and shadow, softness and weight. The mystery of making, whether you are laying down brushstrokes on a canvas or knitting yarn together stitch by stitch, remains the same.

The Impressionists Shawl uses three skeins of tonal Fingering weight yarn to create a beautiful crescent shaped shawl reminiscent of the work of the Masters.

Advance preparation may be required depending on the class topic. Details will be provided one week in advance or upon sign-up. Each weekly class session includes two hours of hands-on instruction, and extra help outside of class if needed and our time allows (it almost always does!). Yarn for classes must come from Compatto Yarn Salon, and we are always happy to help you choose the best yarn for your class or project. If you have questions about this or any other class, please give us a call at 310-453-2130.
