This pair of scarves explores the effect of gradually shifting color values from dark to light to dark again. The patterns are free at Purl Soho. The first scarf is the Gradient Scarf, and is woven in a balanced plain weave, the warp moves through all the colors, from light to dark, while the weft does the same but then shifts back again from dark to light. The second scarf is a Colorblock Scarf, which puts the ombré on display with simple weft stripes. A bit denser than the other scarf, this one is in a weft-faced plain weave. Both scarves can be made with the same yarn. The store sample was made with the four skeins of Jade Sapphire’s hand-dyed Mongolian cashmere and two skeins of Lang Asia.

Advance preparation may be required depending on the class topic. Details will be provided one week in advance or upon sign-up. Each weekly class session includes two hours of hands-on instruction, and extra help outside of class if needed and our time allows (it almost always does!). Yarn for classes must come from Compatto Yarn Salon, and we are always happy to help you choose the best yarn for your class or project. If you have questions about this or any other class, please give us a call at 310-453-2130.
